The two main beaches of Cabo Roig (Cala Caleta and Cala Capitan) are both extremely popular and are kept very clean and well maintained. The beach bar at Cala Caleta is a popular place for a tapas snack and even a midnight cocktail or two, during the hot summer months and is often open until 4am. But be careful, negotiating your way back to the main road can be tricky by moonlight, especially when a little the worse for a beer or three! One of the “must do” things whilst in Cabo Roig is to take a stroll along the picturesque cliff walk to La Zenia. This walk offers some spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding coastline, with the sports resort of La Manga sitting invitingly in the distance. A word of warning though - be careful in the evening time as it can get dark very quickly. The Costa Blanca has some of the best beaches in Spain and they are usually very well cared for and safe, there are a large number of ‘blue flag’ beaches and these are normally cleaned every day and will often have life-guards on duty during the busy summer months. Some of the more popular beaches can get very busy during July and August but if you take some time to explore a little, you may find quiet and isolated beaches even during the high season.
