From a young age, I have been entrepreneurial. I have always been focused on creating opportunities, investing, and building something for the long term. From this interest, I became increasingly involved in real estate and pursued training in real estate and brokerage. In the Netherlands, I took my first steps in the real estate world and developed my interest in investing.
Due to changes around Box 3 and my interest in foreign investments, I began looking more seriously at Spain. Initially mainly as an investment and vacation home for ourselves, combined with the idea of generating returns. But to be honest, it turned out completely different than expected.
Together with my partner, I explored various areas in Spain to discover what really suited us. We eventually settled on Estepona. From the first moment, this felt different. The combination of the climate, atmosphere, lifestyle, the growth of the area, and the real estate market made a huge impression on us. By now, we have made several investments here ourselves and the Costa del Sol truly feels like home.
During our own search, we became increasingly involved in real estate brokerage here in Spain. So I was eventually active for about a year and a half within an established brokerage on the Costa del Sol. During that time, I learned enormously about the market, new construction projects, investments, negotiations, and everything involved when people purchase a property in Spain. At the same time, I built a strong network with developers, investors, and other professionals in the region.
Running a business in Spain has always been a goal I have worked toward over the past years. That's why I'm especially proud that we have now guided dozens of clients in purchasing their dream home or investment on the Costa del Sol. What I personally find most beautiful about this work is that no two clients are the same. One seeks a smart investment with returns, while another dreams of a second home to enjoy more of Spanish life.
Personally, I am very involved in real estate investments and analyzing interesting opportunities within the market. Especially projects that just come online or properties with potential catch my attention. Through my network, I regularly hear early about new developments and opportunities in places like Marbella and Estepona. Additionally, I work with developers and investors who renovate properties and resell them, where I help with positioning and selling these homes.
Beyond work, I like to stay active. I play a lot of padel, regularly exercise at the gym, and find it important to maintain a good balance between running a business and enjoying life here in Spain. Some time ago, I also founded the Dutch Padel Community on the Costa del Sol with friends. Every week, clients, entrepreneurs, friends, and acquaintances come together here for sports, socializing, and networking. That really characterizes how I approach life: work hard, but also enjoy the lifestyle this environment offers.
I believe it's important to guide people honestly and personally through the purchasing process in Spain. Ultimately, you're not just buying a property here, but often a completely new lifestyle and future.
